Leadership Insights #16: Pursuing Personal Podiums: Team Summit's Inspiring Journey

Published 4 months ago • 2 min read

We recently had the privilege of working with Team Summit's young athletes, headed for the Winter Youth Olympics in South Korea this month! Witnessing their infectious energy through backflips, dancing, and supportive cheers during mock press conferences and 1:1 interviews was a true testament to their vibrant spirit.

The balance these athletes maintain is remarkable. Juggling schoolwork, intensive on and off the snow training, and community service, they embody a level of discipline and commitment that's truly inspiring. Honestly, I think we could all use a time management course from them!

Their camaraderie and mutual support, combined with their extraordinary talents, left us in energized and inspired. The way they push and encourage each other is a reflection of their unwavering team spirit and dedication.

To Team Summit: Good luck! We will be cheering you on every step of the way. Your journey is not just about skiing or snowboarding; it's a story of passion, resilience, and community. We can't wait to see where your careers take you.

A big shout-out to Nikola Jokić of the Denver Nuggets; this man absolutely fascinates me. There’s something about the way he behaves on and off the court that I deeply admire and respect. Watching him during interviews, I find myself completely engaged, absorbing every single word he says. Keep in mind, he speaks very few words, and that’s one of the things I respect so much about him as a player and a leader. I have become a basketball fan because of the Denver Nuggets. I admire how true...

I have not been out much over the last few weeks, other than to physical therapy appointments, but I am very grateful to live in such a beautiful place. Pictured above is an unfiltered sunset view from my bedroom which has become a sanctuary for healing, reading, and writing. I know that the renewed strength I desire for my knee and body in the future is contingent on my discipline and consistency today. PT and rest are vital. There are many days when I'm tempted to push ahead with activity...

*Enneagram Workshop in Frisco, CO with TPG facilitator, Tim Bender Have you ever been in a situation with someone you cared about and realized you had offended them without intending to? Like all of a sudden, you see them shut down emotionally? Or they lash out, and you're back-peddling in your mind trying to figure out what in the world you said or did to warrant such anger? We all get offended for different reasons. That is obvious. But what I didn't understand until I dove deeper into the...
